F*** the BBC

My New Best Friend

Spare a thought for my new best friend Goncalo Amaral.

I’m beginning to think the former detective in the Madeleine McCann case has a point when he complains about the British media attacking him.

My Beeb colleague accused him of saying “F*** the McCanns” in an alleged off-guard moment when we all followed him out of court the other day.

What he actually said was “Fala com McCanns” which means “Ask the McCanns”.

The rest of us, through our interpreters, understood perfectly what he was saying.

I think he needs a good libel lawyer.

Isabel Duarte may be free when she has finished pursuing him over his book on the Madeleine case.

Hi Claudia

Martin Brunt has given a lead to all the other numpty news editors to come out from their closets and say what they really think.

Martin must have seen and heard a lot while on his trips back and forth to Portugal this last couple of years and he has obviously taken note of the contrast between gentlemanly Goncalo Amaral and the behaviour of Gerry McCann.

Good on you Martin! You have gained a lot of respect for your efforts!

By the way, Kate McCann has written an article on their blog and it can be seen on Joana's site.

Among other things, she says that she knows Madeleine didn't wake up and run off. Just how does she know that! The same as she knows that Madeleine is still alive I suppose. Maybe she has a crystal ball!

The photos at the top of the article say it all. You couldn't find a happier pair of parents after losing a child.

JUSTICE FOR MADELEINE AND FOR GONCALO AMARAL.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy.
I still think Brunty is quite pathetic but I have to acknowledge his attitude this time. of course I think he did it not in the name of Truth and Justice but in the name of journalistic competition, but it's still a good move.
As for Kate's blog, if she wrote that, then I'm Claudia Schiffer. :-) She has the eloquence of my younger kids. And that's being generous! :-)
Well, if she know Madeleine did not wander off then she must have bee there. Either that or she's trying to cover her skinny ass because if Madeleine had wondered off that would make their neglect even more disgusting. But I'm sure they wouldn't lie to cover their arses, right?
JUSTICE!

Fantastic Claudia, copied to my blog I know you will not mind.

No woonder Goncalo is furious, this digusting campaign against him needs to stop. Tony Parsons ought to be locked up, along with his sick alter ego, Rosiepops!

As for the McCanns and their sick group, I remain convinced their time will come.

In UK the police in the area of the accused always make the arrest, keep right on the case Leicster Police, home to David Payne and Gerry McCann. Strange the way these innoccent parents hate the police both sides of the water, very stranger.

Hi Claudia

I agree that Brunt has been pathetic with his coverage of this case and could have pointed out discrepancies in the McCann's and their pals' stories many times, but he chose to toe the party line! Still, the fact he's come out in Goncalo's favour now is a good start!

How is your uncle at this time by the way. I hope a lot improved.

Hi Claudia and all,

Good wishes to you and your family Claudia and your uncle is in my thoughts. I hope the radiation therapy helps him.

The more and more I read about GA and the more and more I see pics of the real him the more I want to read what this man has to say. Not just McC related. That pic of him in his tribly and raincoat is wonerful. He must have a plethora of books contained within his brain just ready for the finger tips to hit the keyboard and the mysteries unfold. If he does decide to write fiction books I hope he publishes some for the English reading market as I would love to own some of his books.

The UK gutter press have really reached the lowest of low imo. I hope the Portuguese population via their Press/Media are made aware of these articles and get behind GA and support him especially his defence fund. The BBC have boobed big time imo. That reporter who claimed GA swore was I think the same reporter who was such a suck up to GMcC going into the Lisbon court on the 13th, the interview where GMcC was really rattled and looked like he could lose control. The interview where he kept saying a thesis with lack of evidence is meaningless. Yet his abduction thesis has aaaabsooolootely nooooo aaavidance and he expects the people of the world to believe it! Not just believe it but finance his Family Company as well to supposedly LOOK! From what I have read the past few days from the Lisbon court GA's thesis has evidence just not enough! I hope GA takes the Beeb to the cleaners. Imo no matter how much the McC's try to spin via the gutter press the 12th, 13th and 14th of January 10 cannot be erased. I always thought the day I read chief inspector Tavares de Almeida's report in the UK press is the day I know justice will prevail. I never thought that report would even get a whisper and cannot believe that I have actually read extracts from his report and info from all the other experts. Especially Moita Flores stating in a Lisbon court the only thing proven was there was no abduction! Also I had never heard about the call from K8 to the police officer about her dream!

Respect to Goncal Amaral and all who seek justice!

Hi, Zodiac.

I also like to read him. He has some very interesting, informed and valid opinions on Justice. Time will prove him right.
There's no amount of spin and PR that will change Portugal's public opinion regarding the McCann case. There is only one thing that could make a difference and that would be Madeleine being found alive. Sadly, I don't think PR are able to go that far.
As for the latest BBC disgusting lies, the title of this thread sums up my opinion pretty well. ;-)
After almost three years, I finally agree with Geeza. A thesis without evidence is meaningless. And that is exactly why I don't believe his. :-)

Hi all!

I can't say I'm surprised at the Beeb. They've been in all sorts of trouble recently ranging from radio to TV broadcasts and right up to the management. I lost a lot of faith in them over the biased interview they did recently about 'Climategate'. I knew they left a lot of relevant stuff out which skewed the interview towards what the government wants us to think which shows that they are politically biased. That's so wrong. It should be independent and fairly representative otherwise we are headed for Chinaesque state censoring.

I can't help but hope that the Mcs have well and truly opened a can of worms this time that they're not going to be able to close. What a pair of idiots!

Good luck GA and justice for freedom of speech and the written word!

It was Martin Brunt who in 2008 in response to the question,"Have the McCanns run a good media campaign?" replied with,
"I am certain Clarence Mitchell has planted stories in the press to show the McCanns in a good light".
My question is, "Is this Brunt being honest or is this Brunt simply intent on appearing to be so?"
Just like in the X Factor it is now time for you the viewer to decide wether or not Brunt is shuffling with a full deck.

nancy said...

Hi everyone, and nice to see you back Dylan! Glad the book is going well Doc.

I have started reading Goncalo's book today after simply googling his name on the Web, so it make you wonder why the McCanns are going to so much trouble in trying to get it banned, but the publicity and money is of course a magnet for them.

A couple of things stand out for me. Kate was unhappy about going along with the PJ's to identify a picture taken of a little girl on the motorway to see if it could be Maddie. She complained about the speed they were going. Goncalo said it was as if she knew it wouldn't be her daughter.

Also he writes about the Dutchman who said he had information and demanded a huge ransom. While Goncalo and his crew were standing around in a highly tense state waiting for the call from this guy, Gerry was sitting there sucking a lollipop, smiling, and discussing football and rugby with the English Police. He showed no surprise when it turned out to be a fake of course.

What an amazing writer he is and if he wanted to could surely make a career out of his writing talent.

Hi everyone

I think these celebrities, millionaires among them, should think very carefully before accepting an invitation to the McCann's money making Madeleine bash, bearing in mind the inconsistencies that have been brought to light in the recent hearing in Portugal.

Watching McCann lose his cool with reporters outside the Court should be ringing alarm bells to everyone - he was obviously more concerned with his own discomfort than what had happened to Madeleine.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy.
Some call them celebrities, some call them suckers. :-)
Let's see how many 'celebrities' will be there and who they are... ;-)
xxxx

nancy said...

Strange parents these McCanns!

A celebration in a top restaurant in London with a lanterns and balloons (a 1000 no doubt) dropping from the sky, to mark the 1000th day disappearance of their daughter!

And a good excuse for money to top up their lucrative Fund But then they have to pay poor old Edgar so he can go back to PdeLuz and look at the places he is STILL convinced Maddie could be. If that's the case, why has it taken him this long!!

Disgraceful parents, disgraceful idea and the celebrities who want to join them in this deceit should rethink, bearing in mind that no other missing child in the world has had this sort of attention and whose parents must feel they are second class citizens!

Hi Claudia and all

Have just sold my house so rushing around trying to find another one and therefore have not had much time to spend on the computer.

From what I read, there was a misunderstanding as to what Goncalo Amaral said, and they thought he said F*** the McCanns. He did not say that, but I wished he had because he would have been saying what a lot of us would like to say to them. They are now having fund raising dinners and sending up 1000 lanterns, so that they can top up the funds for their "search". Pity the people who are giving could not send their money to the poor little kids in Haiti instead.

I am sure you all read Madeleine is alive and well according to that ex cop (whose name I have forgotten) and he is back on Hewitts back again. What a bloody saga this is!!

Cláudia said...

Hi, Gina.
Good luck finding your new house.
You're right, you know? Mr Amaral didn't say it, but I'll say it. K & G, fuck you both. :-)
What a waste it would be for the money to be sent to Haiti. Those people don't even wear matching clothes and earrings and there are no highlights in their hair...

nancy said...

Hi Claudia and everyone,

As we speak, Kate and Gerry will be putting on their glad rags for their celebrity appearance. I expect they've been looking in the mirror practising their facial expressions, i.e. grief stricken one moment and then laughing their heads off, especially when collecting the money! What a tasteless and tacky way to 'celebrate' the 1000th day of Maddie's disappearance, almost as if they knew she wouldn't have been found, the same as they were well into getting the Madeleine Fund off the ground immediately she was 'taken'! They must have excellent foresight! But then we must remember Gerry saying - "find the body and prove it", or words to that effect!

Good luck with your move Gina! Nice to see you back.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy.
They should have looked in the mirror a bit longer because their outfits match their faces: they're damn ugly! :-)
As for the rest, shameless.
xxxx

Gina said...

Hi all,

I have not read much about the McCanns latest fund raising bash, but I noticed many bloggers use the word "celebrate" so I presume that is because they have read somewhere that it has been billed as a celebration by team McCann.

No matter which way I look at it there is no way I can see how anyone can "celebrate" the 1000th day of a missing child. From the beginning I thought the McCanns and their mates to be weird in their attitude towards things, eg. see no wrong in leaving the kids, ring the family before the police, play tennis & jog, leave the twins to go on unnecessary trips, etc etc. but they have now gone from weird to downright mental with this latest publicity stunt.

Even if they are totally innocent and Madeleine was abducted how on earth can anyone celebrate their child being with a paedo for 1000 days or being dead and discarded somewhere.

Those who worship the McCanns and all they do should start to look at them in a different light and see that they need professional help as they are clearly in denial and bordering on insanity. I read somewhere they said this bash was also to thank their supporters. What a laugh, the supporters had to pay 150 pounds to go to be thanked!

Actually when I think about it, the McCanns are not so stupid as I thought, the ones who dance to their tune are the silly sods.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Gina.
Judging by what happened yesterday at the 'celebration party', it seems less and less people dance to their tune...
xxxx

Gina said...

Hi Claudia,

I see what you mean, judging by what I have read it was hardly a star studded event. It looked to me like it was a scrapping of the barrel of "have beens" "never was" and "wannabe" stars. Even their "into each other" tapas mates didn't bother to cough up with 150 to support them. They could probably have raised more by have a jumble sale in the village hall.

I hope the next time they decide to thank people who supported them they direct their thanks to the people who really did do something, eg. the police, the people of PDL who searched day and night, while they themselves did nothing except try to justify it was ok to leave the kids.

I do not think it matters anymore what they say or do now, most peoples views of them are now firm - either for or against their way of doing things. One publicity stunt they got wrong was taking Mr. Amaral to court, unfortunately for them it sort of backfired because more and more people have now read the book as a result of it which had a knock on effect of them looking for further information on various websites. I am sure they would have been advised this was the risk they would take, which they ignored, so I can only conclude that it has nothing to do with M or the twins, it was just done for the money. I wonder what they will waste it on this time if they are awarded damages!

Cláudia said...

Hi, Gina.
Certainly not a star parade, uh?
Well, they had to take Mr Amaral to court, in my opinion. For two reasons. The money, of course, and also because the book was about to be published in the UK and they had to try to stop that. If the book gets published, it will sell. If it sells, it gets reported in the press. If it sells and gets reported in the press, more and more people will ask questions. If people ask question, no money comes in. :-)
Sleep well!
xxxx

Gina said...

Hi Claudia,

I still think the McCanns were mad to take action against Mr. Amaral in the way they did. IMO all they have managed to do so far, is bring to the attention of the British Public a book, that most of them did not know existed, and now many of them want to read and are doing so. Those who have not been following the case and know nothing about all the for and againsts that have been argued about on blogs, will take the view, for whatever reason Amaral wrote the book, there must be something within it that creates doubt to the abduction, and naturally they will read it and form their own opinions. So the McCanns have generated more publicity for the desire to read the book, which was the opposite of what they said they wanted.

Oh well they know best (in their opinion)

Take a look at Sardine munchers on Joana's site. The McCanns (even if totally innocent) are the only couple in this situation that have managed to get themselves hated and ridiculed.

"Thank you very much for your e-mail and thank you fo the support you express. I would like to thank you for the invitation to your Foundation's Conference. Unfortunately, due to professional and personal commitments, it will not be possible for me to attend. I wish you much success in your endeavours to assist in the discovery of truth and the pursuit of justice".

I think he made a very wise choice because I can imagine the media would crucify him if he did attend.

Hi Doc,

I am not around much lately as have just sold my house and in a panic because I cannot find another one I like (or can afford). I just pop by from time to time to see who is still blogging and if there is any "real" news. Needless to say there is never any news on Madeleine, but the McCanns always seem to find some way of "performing" and watching them just winds me up. The only solution to that would be not to read about them, but to be honest I live in hope that one day someone will tell them on camera that their way of doing things is odd to say the least. What I have just said is calm and polite for me, but when I really think about all the things they have done (or not done) I go into a hissing fit.

I can't see any end to this - what do you think will happen.

Hi Claudia,

Looked at 10 houses today, all were cr@p - I am stressed and knackered :-(

Good luck with the house hunting. Are you back in the UK?

Hi Doc, and all

I am still living in Spain Doc, but I have just sold my house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, because some who shall remain nameless took the p*ss when I mentioned it once. My completion date is 23rd March so I have to find something before then. I have been out all day with a Spanish agent but I think something got lost in the translation because I said I was looking for something smaller than I have with good access roads and nice mountain views. I have been taken to 3 ruins which he said would be easy to do up with views of someone elses roof, a house that has not been lived in for 5 years and smelled of goats poo, and a brand new house which is half built and already over my budget, it would cost a fortune to complete it, and all of these places were up dirt tracks that would rip my cars exhaust pipe off. Your not kidding when you say its a bloody nightmare!

Hi Claudia,

Even more stressed and knackered that I was yesterday, and now bordering on panicing in case I can't get out in time and have to pay the fine for not completing on time - Oh what joy,

Cláudia said...

Hi, Gina.
If you don't find a house before your deadline, can't you explain it to the people you sold the house to and ask them for a bit of more time? Here in Portugal those types of problems are usually solved during a nice lunch /dinner and everybody ends up with new friends. :-)

Gina said...

Hi Claudia,

I have a very good relationship with the buyers and I may have to ask for more time, but they have now sold their house in Holland to move to Spain so they have to get out too. Off out again now to look at more properties.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Gina.
You can share the place with them until you find a new one and at the same time you explain to them the secrets of your former house! :-)

nancy said...

Hi Gina -

Good luck with your house search. I would have thought that with so many empty new properties around you would be able to have the pick, although it's always hard to find exactly what you have in mind. And it's great that you have a buyer already because there aren't many of those around.

I remember when the unmentionable site kept bringing up about your three bathrooms - they didn't believe a word, but then they were probably eaten up with jealousy! I haven't been to that blog for about a year but I suppose they are still banging on about the same old stuff.

Docmac -

Hello, nice to read you but sorry to hear about your burglary and in your new home too. Did the police catch them? At least you and the family are alright which is the main thing.

Claudia -

Hi and hope all is well with you and your uncle is improving.

Only a few more days before the decision in Portugal. Let's all say one huge prayer that justice is done and Goncalo is successful. The McCanns have had it their own way for far too long.

However, he has threatened to take it to the European Courts if it goes against him, something which I have thought he should do for a long time, and in a way that will give even more publicity for his book, which wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy.
I'm fine, thanks. My uncle is not so well, though. But thanks for asking.

I don't quite get her inference. How can it be shown that they failed at least once? Even if true some of the other reactions must be positive then. Is that a bit of an own goal then?

From what I read today and previously Amaral won the case on his witnesses and arguments. I am not a legal person but just going on the arguments put forward.

Hi Claudia, (get to bed early after that busy day - I know what it's like to queue up at offices in Spain for hours!

Hi Joe, nice to read you again.

Well, Gerry behaved himself today for a change. Kate continues to remind the public that a 'child' is missing (she never says her daughter)! Really Kate, we didn't know! Note the word 'missing' they always use now - not abducted.

And they actually said they would like a review of the case.

Take care Kate and Gerry, and the tapas pals, you might have to answer those 48 questions and do a reconstruction if you get this long overdue wish!

I must admit Kate looked haggard on ITV news this evening, but then they both know when to change their faces to suit the occasion.

They were not quite as happy today as at their celebration of the
1000th day last week!

Good luck Goncalo - you will need it! Having said that, you have had plenty of exposure across the world about your book, so it will be sure to go down in history.

Hi All,

This was taken from sky news report

"The couple also said they wanted the whole investigation into their daughter's disappearance to be reviewed by Portuguese and British police."

Better late than never I suppose -Why has it taken them so long to work out what we have all been saying for years. There would have been no need for a review if they had co-operated in the first place by answering all the questions and taking part in a Police reconstruction. There would also have been no need for Mr. Amaral to write a book either if they had acted in the correct way. They would either be behind bars by now or their abduction story would have been believed.

So the way I see it is, they are suing a police officer & at the same time asking for police help. They are suing a Portuguese TV company but still seeking coverage to ask people to come forward with information. If they go on the way they are going they will get no help from anyone as people will not want to get involved as they know one word out of place or they do not like could result in being sued.

Hi everyone -

Yesterday, to all intents and purposes, went well for Goncalo, so let's hope on the 18th February he gets this ridiculous injunction overturned in his favour.

And reading the papers, apart from the disgusting Star, it appears the mood is shifting slightly. After all, they want to be able to print what they like, so why should they back the McCanns who want to stop someone from speaking his mind.

From the case...

"The McCanns want to take advantage of all the media work done."

Yes, they most certainly do. As they have from the very beginning. Well done, Gerry and Kate. Margaret would have been so proud of you two scoundrels.

Hello, dear friends.
Don't feel like writing too much today because I've got a bad cold and just want to sleep.
Hope you're all well.

Hi Claudia and all.

McCann review not re-open then!Thought the McC Haudit and Daudit private PI's had already reviewed the case and the outcome was it was not the McC's that dunnit! Somehow I do not think that the McC's will be the ones to request the re-opening of this case. I think if it is re-opened they will imply that they requested this!

Hi Nancy and everyone,

It will be jolly interesting to see if the McCanns actually lodge an official request to have the case reopened. I doubt they will. Yesterday they were desperate to try to stem the tide against them, hence the mention of the review of evidence. Such a review would mean one thing to us( as in reopen the case) but something else to them. He thinks he is so clever and can handle the media, well he cannot. Whatever the Judgment on the injunction, Mr. Amaral has given the bully a bloody nose and put the profilers report in the public domain. If the McCanns are to learn anything it would be that Mr.Amaral will continue his campaign and more facts will be revealed and they should just back off.

Hi, Zodiac and Joe.
If they really wanted the case re-opened, they could have asked for it when it was shelved. They decided not to. They must have their reasons. And they must be strong because usually parents of missing children do whatever they can to keep the investigation open and alive.

Hi Claudia and all
Claudia i wish you are feeling better of you cold. Here the weather is freezing and i guess in Viseu it can be worse. Take care of yourself.
GM didn't ask to reopen the case, he said the case need to be review be police, i think he was in certain way obliged to say that because of the declarations of GA out of court, maybe by advise of ID, who started to produce dramatic declarations in TV.A desperate way to hide the news that come in public domain that day.She was , also in court, very aggressive and impolite. When someone don't have other arguments, to make noise is the solution lol.
Claudia, hope all your family is well and your uncle recovering.

Olá, Mandarinn.
I'm feeling a little better, thanks. On Thursday I felt really bad but it's better now, thank you.
Here in Viseu at 9 o´clock today it was still 0ºC. And I had to work in the morning.
If GM wanted the case re-opened he could have arranged for that to happen a long time ago. As you say, I think he felt forced to say it, given the circumstances and the difficult questions.
As for the lady lawyer, can't say I'm surprised. Money buys strong convictions and if it wasn't her, it would be another one. It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it. I'm just glad it's not me or anyone I care about.
Thank you for your kind words. My uncle i more or less in the same way. We're waiting to hear what the next course of action will be, if any.
Beijinhos.

But he does say it.
You can hear and see it. No-one is convinced by the several different versions offered - best to fess up. No-one would blame him.

Cláudia said...

No, you idiot, he does not. I dare BBC to broadcast the footage without the bleeping. Anyone speaking Portuguese knows that is not what he said because he spoke in Portuguese. Even Brunty recognised it (because he was smart enough to have people with him who understood Portuguese. Furthermore, you have to be very arrogant to ask him questions and expect him to answer in a language he does not speak. Arrogant, ignorant and stupid.
Now go get a brain and learn how to use it.

Hi Claudia,

Well said - you dont mince your words and you are right!

I may be wrong, but if Goncalo wins the right to carry on printing and selling his book I think that will put pressure on the authorities to have the case reopened and insist on a reconstruction. We can only hope though and I won't hold my breath!

Lots of good stuff on Nigel's McCann Files today, and I see that GM won't be going back for the verdict because of work commitments. He must think we were all born yesterday!

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy.
Sorry for the rant but I'm just fed up with ignorant bastards and won't take their crap here.
Interesting that GM is too busy to hear the verdict...
