Sad, indeed, Dylan.
Today is Mothers' Day here in Portugal. I just wish Madeleine had had a mother (and father) like I the ones I know. She would be celebrating her 6th birthday soon, surrounded by friends and family and feeling the most loved little girl on Earth.
Boa noite!

Cláudia, I think we all knew that :-))) Strange how Mum's post came up right on cue and after she had deleted all of her posts beforehand. Bet there were some frienzied emails going back and forth. I reckon some laptops caused a power surge in places and shut down the national grid ;-)

Night again, Dylan xxx

Claudia, Mother's Day must be a terrible day for any family that has lost a child. And today, your Mother's Day, is the second anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance. She will never be able to make Mother's Day cards at school, or bring her mother burnt toast in bed for a special Mother's Day treat. Whatever happened on May 3rd 2007 that thought alone is heart-breaking.

Zetta and Rosie's Mole

Are we to believe that Rosie was telling porkies about why Mum deleted herself? I can't believe it. Mum must simply have forgotten to include her in her 'bet'.

Anyway, Zetta, you must feel happy that you were able to bring those two lovely ladies together again.

People complain too much. People are never happy. People always want more. People don't enjoy the good things in their lifes and often choose to concentrate on the small, negative aspects.
Those of us who are healthy, who have a good life and who have the people we love around and well should thank God, the Nature, faith, or any other supreme being or force everyday.
That's what I try to do. But I sometimes also forget. So thank you, life, for everything good in my existence. :-)

Hi Claudia and all,

'So thank you, life, for everything good in my existence. :-')

I agree with you words above Claudia. Such a pity that poor M's parents were not thankful for their children. If they had been and taken them with them for dinner or stayed in the apt or used the free childcare facilities that poor little soul would be at home looking forward to celebrating her 6th Birthday and not as her father has said in whatever situation she finds herself in!

Sending good thoughts for Madeleine and all other missing and neglected children.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Zodiac!
There's a Portuguese saying about luck which says something like 'even to be born you have to be lucky'. I don't think Madeleine was, sadly. When you become a mother or a father, nothing ever can be more important than your child/children. You have to be willing to die for them, if necessary. It's the price to pay for such a blessing. And that is the way it should be!

'When you become a mother or a father, nothing ever can be more important than your child/children. You have to be willing to die for them, if necessary. It's the price to pay for such a blessing. And that is the way it should be!'

Without a doubt and I do not even have to start that sentence of with I think!

It is a pity I do not ever think that the most poignant lyrics in the above song will ever be used by this poor little one's parents.

Hi all, just popped by to say that I see J4 have written a book. Well good for them, at least they can get all their points of view over in one hit. I hope they have not forgetten they are only points of view as they know nothing more than the rest of us. The only thing we know for sure is Madeleine is gone, the PJ should have sealed the apartment more thoroughly and the McCanns left the kids alone.

I find it strange however that they criticise Bennett and Amaral for writing a book, then do exactly that themselves. IMO it doesn't matter what you choose to do with the money you get, you are still making it in the same way as the others have so what is good for one is good for another. I feel sure there will be another book written by those with opposing views to J4 with questions the McCanns and "the establishment" need to answer & why the Smith's sighting has not be followed up more thoroughly. Oh well, I suppose all concerned will think they are doing
some good so who am I to burst their balloon.

I was interested in what MWT said, that he thought Madeleine woke and went out to find her parents, then was abducted. This would mean she was awake at the time she was taken and whilst she could have been told by an abductor that he would take her to Mummy he would have to have done so in good English and walked away with her or he would have had to sedate her immediately and carry her off. Hmmmm

The detectives working on the case feel Madeleine is going to be found in PDL. Well if they feel that to so why on earth did they not tell the McCanns to include on the 10,000 posters for the area, the photo of how Madeleine may look now along side the one we all know well. Maybe reasons like this are stopping people donating to the fund now, they can see how money is wasted.

That's me done TTFN

Hello All :-)

Cláudia, hope you had a lovely mothers' day and that your mum loved her gift. Did you get to lay-in or was your mum banging on your door at 630 in the morning ;-)

Well I see I've returned on time to discover the joys of the J4 'book' - Lol!!! How funny, Vee is denying authorship of it - like we care who wrote it??!! I really love this bit though:

"What the book does is try to gather all the disinformation surrounding this case into the one place and thus offering the reader a chance to see for themselves, how puerile some of the accusations were, in some cases, while in others, downright malicious, vindictive and malevolent and it also offers the reader a snapshot of how ugly the internet became in this case."

Can i take that they have included all of their ugly, sadistic, racist, sizeist, bigotry in the book then?? PMSL!! Bless 'em!

I also saw that they have brought up the whole ROB 'outing' attack again. Rat, if you are reading, I don't give a fig who you are, just what you believe in. Good for you for sticking to your guns girl and don't let them get to you.

Hi everyone -

I hope you all had an enjoyable bank holiday and a good rest! I was helping look after four kids from 18 months to 7 years for a few days and to say it was hair-raising would be an understatement, but I love kids so I would willingly do it again!

I just watched the opening of the video with Oprah and I found the Mccanns just as unbelievable as they have been in all their interviews.

Kate 'emming and erring and I mean-ing', and Gerry sitting there looking completely disinterested!

I can't see how Oprah could possibly believe them for a moment, and from the snippet I saw she didn't seem that overwhelmed.

I have never understood how they could face doing interviews at all in view of the tragic circumstances of Maddie's disappearance, but then maybe they are made of sterner stuff!

And the business of putting out an older version in a photo is bordering on the ridiculous because if someone took Madeleine and still had her, they would have made sure to change her appearance so no-one, not even her parents, would recognise her.

Poor little Maddie, she really did deserve better.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Nancy! Hope you're ok.
Welcome to my life! :-)
I watched the whole show and I have to confess I though it was not as bad as I was thinking it would be. yes, Oprah did not ask any difficult questions. She just went along the script. But I didn't see much empathy in her, to be honest. Overall, I just thought that it didn't bring anything new (one way or another) and that it was a bit boring.

Hi Claudia and all,

'And the business of putting out an older version in a photo is bordering on the ridiculous because if someone took Madeleine and still had her, they would have made sure to change her appearance so no-one, not even her parents, would recognise her.'

Nancy Ernie Allen featured in the Oprah interview thinks the same, imo!

Some of my observations from the Oprah interview:

GMcC clearly says (in a my pants are too tight squeaky voice) he crossed the road to talk to JW. Well I do not know if this has been mentioned before just as I was watching GMcC say this I thought are they saying he was on the other side of the road because G A has said in his theory that M climbed on the sofa as she could hear her father talking outside therefore they imply that as he was across the road M could not have heard him. Also Ernie Allen says quite clearly "I really want you to understand circulating a photo of a child who was not quite 4 two years later is not good enough." And the look on there faces! What picture do they have on their Never Give Up T-Shirts?

The O interview was not as gushy as I thought it would be. O did make a lot points known to the American public only a few moments were gushy. Where was O's weeping and the weeping audience with their tissues that were provided! Imo it was a boring non interview. Just a regurgitation of their BS of the past 2 years. If anything it will just make the Americans aware of their neglect and how unconvincing they are. When she was explaining how she knew just knew the grappling for his hand near the end of her explanation I felt embarrassed for her!

My nearly nine year old daughter said the new picture of M looks as if she is about 9/10 and not 6.

It was a really short programme More Ad's than show imo!

Claudia OH's laptop has survived I get my other new one tomorrow.

Cláudia said...

Claudia LOL! Would that be Pinkypoops Authorities! I'll just say I did a K8 she said her 4 year old missing child I said nearly 9 for my still at home child!

I allowed my daughter to watch last night's fiasco. My OH was watching Man U so Cookie and I watched the O show. All the reading on the net I have done since Sept/Oct 07 I have read time and time again how people talk, shout at their TV's in disgust, disbelief at the McC's. Well my little one is 10 in Aug and from the begining she had an opinion and voiced it. The McC's cannot even fool children they are too smart for them!

If anyone is stupid enough to pay 7.99 to read J4's book, which undoubtedly contains the same old that we have read over and over again, just be warned. These are people who enjoy outing bloggers so is it worth risking sending your address and phone number when ordering from the Bookstore. Personally I would rather give 7.99 to charity.

I was also wondering why J4 needed to write a book to try and get the case investigated. Why didn't they just petition the authorities themselves instead of inciting others to do it for them. It would also be interesting to know how the McCanns feel about this book, surely it was up to them and their advisors to decide if they wanted action taken, not a load of no nothings.

Zodiac 10.54 I totally agree with what you said, absolutely no need for a book at all if they are seriously only interested in getting the case investigated. But perhaps they are not ONLY interested in doing that!

IMO it somewhat takes away their argument that people should not be allowed to write books about this case, then they do so themselves. Pot kettle situation as far as I can see. If they wanted to get whatever their new information is to a wider audience they could have put it out as a free download on the net. No cost, no money involved, just "genuine" care and concerned hmmmm

Having watched the Oprah Winfrey interview with the McCanns a few times now, I can only come to one conclusion:

"Lies, lies, and more lies"!!

Kate was hyperventilating so much I thought she would pass out. It was so obvious she was worried about putting her foot in it. Gerry was obviously nervous being interviewed by the great Oprah! I thought OW asked some good questions, although not as many as I would have asked, and I don't think she was fooled by them for a moment.

And just how do they manage to look like they have stepped out of a page of a glossy magazine all the time instead of like a couple of people who lost their daughter to a paedophile two years ago! Amazing!!

nancy said...

Hi Jenny,

I wish I had your faith because
I don't think the McCann's would hesitate for one moment to use money from the Madeleine Fund. They used it to pay mortgage payments after all, and they are both directors so will have equal control over it. If it's true that they spent just 13% of the £2.5 million on searching for Madeleine, just where did the rest go, or is it sitting there in readiness for their 'whoosh clunk' retirement somewhere exotic?

Ugly' man is new Madeleine suspect
5 hours 31 mins ago

Related photos / videos An artist's impression of a man seen by a witness apparently watching the … The new artist's impression shows a "very ugly" man who appeared to be watching the apartment where the little girl was staying with her family on the day before she vanished.

It is based on the account of a British woman who was on holiday in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz when Madeleine went missing on May 3 2007.

She saw the man, who had pitted skin and a large nose, twice in the days before the little girl disappeared.

On April 29 the unnamed tourist was out with her daughter when she spotted him "acting suspiciously" in the street. Then three days later she saw the man again outside the McCanns' holiday flat.

She told police he was about 5ft 10ins tall, slim and was wearing casual clothes, probably jeans.

Another two witnesses - a 12-year-old schoolgirl and a man from Cheshire - also reported seeing a man watching the McCanns' apartment in the days before Madeleine vanished.

They have not yet been able to confirm whether the person they saw was the same one shown in the new artist's impression.

In answer to your question about the audience asking questions. There was no audience participation if it had not been for O prompting the clapping at the end of her show I would have been under the impression that the audience were super imposed!

Especially when she questioned them about leaving the children night after night. Just the way she said you felt it was safe to leave them alone night after night? I have my V+ box set to record tonight's offering. It will most likely be all about pimple man.

Re the "ugly" man (Helmy - pimple man - LOL!), IMO Gerry is ugly. I'm saying no more ;-)
With all of those people acting suspiciously in PdL and lone men wandering around on a beach (disgraceful!), PdL is beginning to sound like some sort of seedy red-light district! IMO, that makes it even more surprising that they left their little ones to go out.

Have a lovely day all.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Dylan!
I'm pretty sure that the scariest people in PdL on May 2007 went back home when the heat in the kitchen was too much for them to handle.
I suspect someone may see his bank account grow after this latest sketch was made public... And I don't mean anyone from TM. ;-)

JennyH said...

Nancy, it's not a matter of 'faith'. I just look at the matter objectively and do not believe that the McCanns would be silly enough to order and install a new kitchen in full view of the neighbours. The matter of the mortgage payments was very ill-advised but a new kitchen is at a quite different level and they must know that it would attract unwelcome attention.

I think it is a leap of logic to assume that because it's not obvious where all the Fund has been spent that Kate decided to spend it on highly visible home improvements, when she knows they are being observed.

As you know I am not convinced either way. All I want is the truth to come out, whatever it is -- Maddie deserves it. I am not invested in any specific outcome.

Cláudia said...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had benefitted from the money at a personal level. Not at all. In fact, they already have, with the mortgage. But I agree that it wouldn't probably be something as obvious as a new kitchen. I don't think that the mortgage thing was a mistake. I think it was greed. And I have no idea how parents of a missing child could do it. Having the type of jobs they had, it is unthinkable that they didn't have some savings in case anything happened. And even if they were irresponsible enough not to have it, I'm sure such a united family would certainly help without them resorting to use money donated by good people to find a missing child.

JennyH said...

Claudia, I agree about the mortgage. Just not the kitchen.

When I say they were ill-advised, I meant that whoever advised them that it would be acceptable to take money from the fund for that gave them very bad advice, which they should have refused to take.

Whether guilty or innocent their using the fund for this was terrible PR.

Cláudia said...

Hi, Jenny!
I'm not even sure if they took someone's advice or if someone did them a 'favour'. Anyway, now they won't have to go through that situation again because they are apparently also directors of the fund, which I find interesting, to say the least.
