Certainly worthy of reflection

I bumped into these and even tough they are not new , it all still amazes me.

GM, "We have been advised our behaviour was legally well within the bounds of responsible parenting and have been assured no action will be taken." Really? And who told you that? Britney?

CM, "Kate and Gerry are realistic enough to know that Madeleine may be dead and it would be a tragedy that she is found as such, because it rules out the hope that she is alive... But any widening of the search area is encouraging and we would welcome that. If she is dead then she is dead, but not by their hand."
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1566115/Madeleine-McCann-police-to-trawl-reservoir.html Ok, then. Phew, what a relief.

CM, "There are wholly innocent explanations for any material that the police may or may not have found." Good to know. But nobody would ever think otherwise.

KM "believes she is being persecuted because of her appearance," her mother revealed today. In an extraordinary interview, Susan Healy described how her distraught daughter claimed "if she was heavier” and had bigger breasts”people would be more sympathetic." Yep, that's it. It has got nothing to do with the parenting choices done that week. It's the tits.

The McCanns were said to be "emotionally torn" to learn that Portugal's biggest ever anti-paedophile operation has failed to turn up a single lead in the hunt for their four-year-old daughter, who went missing during a family holiday on May 3.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1566212/Richard-Branson-defends-Madeleine What?

GM just days after Madeleine's disappearance, "Kate and I have to concentrate on our own well being." I never doubted you would.

KM, "I know that what happened is not due to the fact of us leaving the children asleep. I know it happened under other circumstances." Of course not. There is absolulety no connection at all between Madeline being left alone and being missing. Was there any moron who would think such a thing?

KM, "It cannot be considered a crime. Someone committed one, but not us." Of course not. If it is well within the bounds of responsible parenting how can it be a crime. In fact, I think it is one of the most popular and well accepted suggestions on all parenting books: "Do not spend too much time with your toddlers. You need your 'me' time and they need theirs. Meals, especially, should be made separetely. You don't want to raise co-dependent children, do you?".

GM, "I know 100 per cent Kate could NOT have done anything. I know that's true from what I did that night...and in terms of what Kate knows about me, I was away from her for just ten minutes." That's very important. relationships without trust do not work.

GM, "Sometimes people do things for reasons that even they cannot understand. An act of madness, an accident or sudden impulse can lead to consequences that people may never have imagined or intended." Couldn't agree more.

GM, "It seems like a disaster that we've got this huge donated fund and now we're not allowed to use it for legal costs because we're under suspicion."
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/article10632.ece Oh God, how can this possible? Oh cruel, ungrateful world. It's disaster after disaster. My heart weeps.

KM, "It was our holiday too, you know." Yeah, we know. We all know. Sadly.

KM, "We were just so into each other." Good to know. Friends are very important.

GM, "The situation that Madeleine finds herself in" Kids... Always messing up.

GM, "We want a big event to raise awareness that she is still missing... It wouldn't be a one-year anniversary, it will be sooner than that." Big plans, uh?

KM, "Yyyeeah, yeah you're right! (voice reaches a crescendo) It was a very small window of opportunity but they saw it and then "whoosh clunk. Whoosh clunk????

GM, in Vanity Fair, The iris is "Madeleine's only true distinctive feature. Certainly we thought it was possible that this could potentially hurt her or" - he grimaces - "her abductor might do something to her eye... but in terms of marketing, it was a good ploy." And that's what really matters, isn't it? Ok, she could be hurt... But let's not be pessimistic. Such a good marketing ploy can't be ignored just like that.

CM, "We have not cooperated in any shape or form." We all know that.

CM, "An outcome similar to Holly and Jessica is possible. I don't want to, and I can't, talk about Robert Murat but some journalists who worked with me in Soham, and that were now in Portugal, saw resemblances between that case and Robert Murat. And I won't say more." Oh, you naughty boy. I wonder if Mr Murat has spoken to his lawyer.

CM, "I was the head of the government's Media Monitoring Unit. Forty people work there and their function is to control what comes out in the media." Yes, we all know that...

Gonçalo Amaral "This is very weird for an abduction". Upon hearing Gonçalo Amaral, a young inspector asked him, "Chief, do you believe Kate is responsible for the death of her daughter?"The answer couldn't be more direct, "I'm still not sure, but I wouldn't like her to be my mother." Me neither. Yikes!

GM, "we are hoping for the best possible outcome for us.... and Madeleine." Madeleine? That name sounds familiar. Who is she anyway?

KM, "At worst we were naive." Fan of euphemisms, uh?

John McCann, "Even if she has been damaged, I believe she is still recoverable." Good to know. Sounds quite simple.

GM, If the worst happened...at least she will be in a better place." I agree.

KM: " Our life is not as happy without Madeleine."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2007/oct/25/ukcrime.madeleinemccann I'm so sad to hear that. My heart weeps once again.

"Kate feels after all she's been through she feels she has a lot to offer child organisations." Kids, runnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Mrs Healy of KM: "One of her main goals in life is to work with children and assist with child safety." Don't stop. Keep runninggggggg!

DP: "We have a pact. This is our matter only. It is nobody else's business." Ok, sorry. We'll stop being nosey. You don't have to be rude.

JT: "I saw a man carrying a child in their pyjamas and I thought to myself - well he's not a very good parent - as it was a cold night." I certainly agree. What an irresponsible bastard. Bundleman should have his kid taken away by the Social Services. We all know that if the night is cold the responsible thing to do is go out and leave the kids at home. Alone. In an insecure apartment. In a foreign country. Babysitting for the 2 year old twins. Bundleman, hang your head in shame, you creep.

KM, "It was really just like being in your back garden." We know, hun. We all do it. No need to recriminate yourself more. Nothing more, nothing less than well withing the bounds of responsible parenting.

GM, "It could have been worse, we could have lost the twins too. There were three children in the room. That's the worst nightmare." I agree. You were very lucky. Margaret, of course, wan't. But you were. It's not Margaret, is it? I'm pretty sure it's an M name.

CM "...it is true that we have requested a meeting with the prime minister to show him the strength of our case, to explain Kate and Gerry's innocence and yet all we've been offered is a medium-level-consular meeting, which we rejected."
http://www.mccannfiles.com/id63.html Way to go, CM. Show that idiotic, arrogant prime minister his place. Who the hell does he think he is? Does he know who he's talking to? You're in big trouble, mister.

CM, "They don't want to do anything about 'woe is us a year on'. That is what the tabloids would like but we are not following their agenda, we are following our own agenda."
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2008/mar/11/madeleinemccann.itv Yep, we all know that either.

Susan Healy, "Well I have to say that I'm surprised that Kate and Gerry left their children at all and I've thought about it a lot because they're such caring parents and I think - why?" We all still do, Mrs Healy. We all still do.

Great Post Hun and thanks for the link to all those quotes from Gerry in his favourite Murdoch rag, the all telling News of the World.

I just picked up on another one:

Gerry denied he would have had time to hide a body, if as police suggested, he or his wife had killed Maddie by accident.

"As I said, I was away from the table for ten minutes," he said. "Six minutes of that was spent speaking to another guest I met as I came out from checking on Madeleine.

"All of this can come out. And it doesn't stack up." But friends fear there is now evidence that raises suspicions about the McCanns' chronology of events.

Well you know, I always had Gerry down as a pretty precise man who likes everything to run like clock work and here he seems to confirm that view, 6 of those minutes I spent talking..the thing is he needs to synchronise his watch a little better with Mr Ludicrous because he claims he did not have a watch that night. Now for someone who had no watch 6 minutes sounds pretty precise, in fact it sounds so precise that it even seems like he was very carefully timing everything he did that night, just like clockwork.

I also think the "as I came out from checking on Madeleine" was a little bit of a slip up, because in fact he has two other children that he needed to check on. To me this clearly says that what he was doing around that time and thinking only involved Madeleine. Well the twins could not have been a problem, they were completely comotose!

All of this can come out and it does not stack up and my friends are worried too, well you said it Gerry and that is completely understandable, and sadly for you it is all coming out.

JUSTICE FOR MADDIE!

What a brilliant work you did here, Cláudia! The statements are well worth to be kept for research and documentation, but your remarks are priceless!
Well done, garota!

Cláudia said...

Hi, Viv! :-)
You make excellent points, darling. For someone who has no watch he was damn precise.
Of course the kids didn't wake up. Remember the big, bad 'Mr Abductor Man Probably Working for a Paedophile Ring but Who Certainly Has Not Harmed Madeleine in Any Way' sedated them.

Thank you, Nana.
Everytime I read them I must remind myself they are not jokes and were actually said.
Um beijo!

Hello Cláudia,

I know these quotes aren't funny. It must be my odd sense of humour but I couldn't stop laughing.

Seriously this is the quote that I find totally unbelievable: "It could have been worse, we could have lost the twins too. There were three children in the room. That's the worst nightmare."

I guess it really didn't matter about Madeleine as long as "their" twins were ok. It really says it all.

I hope all their chickens come home to roost very soon.

Cláudia said...

No, Helmy, you're right. Most of the quotes are funny. Some are even hilarious, to be honest. They only stop being funny when you think that this was Madeleine they were talking about. The little girl who is missing because her parents thought it was responsible parenting to eat and drink in a Tapas bar while their 3 under 4 year old children were left alone in a resort apartment in a foreign country. But if you manage to forget about that tragic detail, the quotes are certainly funny.

Hi Claudia,

Those quotes really show these gawd awful people up. I have read most of them over the months the ones that I especially find LUDICROUS are:

(KM "believes she is being persecuted because of her appearance," her mother revealed today. In an extraordinary interview, Susan Healy described how her distraught daughter claimed "if she was heavier” and had bigger breasts”people would be more sympathetic)

So does it not enter her head that people in her words 'persecute' her because she and her husband left thier little children alone in a holiday flat to fend for themselves whilst they pissed off for their beloved 'me time'. Claudia it is the tits that are to blame for the situation their child may or may not be in now, the pair of tits who are her Mother and Father.

(KM, "I know that what happened is not due to the fact of us leaving the children asleep. I know it happened under other circumstances.")

It is now the 18/08/08 Kate your status that prevented you from telling the World how you 'just knew' was lifted on the 21/07/08. SO WHY ARE WE STILL WAITING! Promise I will try not to laugh when/if you make your announcement to your public.

(GM, "It seems like a disaster that we've got this huge donated fund and now we're not allowed to use it for legal costs because we're under suspicion.")

Thought the Fund was to find your missing beloved daughter. Sell your house to pay for your own personal legal costs. Or do you expect the poor, children who donated their pocket money, OAP's and others who donated to find your child to pay your legal costs as well as your mortgage and most likely other people connected to you via the Fund's mortgages as well?

('GM, in Vanity Fair, The iris is "Madeleine's only true distinctive feature. Certainly we thought it was possible that this could potentially hurt her or" - he grimaces - "her abductor might do something to her eye... but in terms of marketing, it was a good ploy.")'

Well of all the sightings how many of these little blonde's have one eye. Would an abductor not just make the child wear sun glasses. On second thoughts would the abductor display this child in public. Don't think so. I wonder how long it will before we see in print and hear on the news, we saw a blonde 5,6,7, etc year old girl in wherever and she only had one eye it must have been M. By the way it was 8 months ago and I only just remembered, honestly this is is a credible sighting!

(John McCann, "Even if she has been damaged, I believe she is still recoverable.")

FFS that comment coming from the uncle of the child and someone who is a father himself!

("Kate feels after all she's been through she feels she has a lot to offer child organisations."

Mrs Healy of KM: "One of her main goals in life is to work with children and assist with child safety.")

How far up their own @rs*s these people are!

(CM "...it is true that we have requested a meeting with the prime minister to show him the strength of our case, to explain Kate and Gerry's innocence and yet all we've been offered is a medium-level-consular meeting, which we rejected.")

Another example of up their own @rs*s! I am surprised CM did not say does the PM not know who we are.

Hi, Zodiac.
It's unbelievable, isn't it? I thought the idea of having a spokesperson was to avoid saying idiotic things in the media. But then again, when the spokesman himself says them...

Hi, Helmy.
The only thing I can remember is that 'The Truth of the Lie' is supposed to be published in Spain in the beginning of September. I think I also read about other countries but can't be sure.

Helmy said...

Thank you, maybe that was it.

You're welcome, Helmy. It may be another thing. I've been away on holiday and since I came back I've been quite busy. It's very likely that I've missed some interesting news.

SHU, I already detected the post by the crazy anonymous. It was not a threat to me or my family. It was just a post by a crazy person. I am not a mother and I am certainly not a grandmother (I'm 29). But I do have three blonde children who are very close to me. The photo that idiot is referring to is the same photo that is my avatar and it is my lovely almost 2 month old Goddaughter Sara. The only thing right about that post was that Sara is a gorgeous baby. She really is. :-)

Hi Claudia,

Look at the tripe below, I grudged every penny of my 87p when buying the mag it is printed in. Will I buy another copy and send it to the PJ or CdM? It is not available to view online.

A SUMMARY OF THE WOMANS OWN ARTICLE
DATED 25/08/08

McCANNS TO SUE POLICE?

Madeliene's parents face new agony after detectives' mistakes are revealed

No one can fail to be moved by new revelations of information that was withheld from K & G McC in their search for missing Maddie.
Goes on about possible sightings,e-fits of two suspects (the Anna Stam ones who like M's partents), CCTV and info that a paedo ring may have ordered the abduction.
How the couple may be planning to sue the PT Police for any mistakes they might have made during the investigagtion.
Family spokesperson, Clarence Mitchell, tells Woman's Own, 'The mistakes and incompetence are there for all to see. If they'd done a lot more in the first days after Madeleine went missing, then there would have been a better chance of getting her back.'
The move was revealed as the McCanns' team of private investigators were following up a new sighting of Maddie (THOUGHT SHE WAS NOT CALLED THAT)- a security guard in Brussels, Belgium, is convinced he saw her with a woman in a hijab headdress just days ago. (ER...WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME OF THAT SIGHTING). While
the McC's priority is still to get Maddie (THOUGHT THEY DID NOT CALL HER THAT)back, their legal team in Portugal are seeing if there are grounds for a lawsuit.
But this renewed investigation comes at time when the McC's are running low on cash. There's just £460,000 left in the Find M fund, and with the investigation reported to be costing £166,000 per month they're running out of the money needed to find their little girl.
But members of the public, desperate to return M to her parents, have got into trouble taking pics of children whom they suspect may be Maddie. The McC's are now urging people not to take photos of children without consent of their parents, but to report suspicions to the police immediately.
The recent reports of possible new sightings have further convinced the McC's that their daughter is still alive and unharmed (OMG!), playing down claims she may have been snatched by a paedo ring (ER..THE START OF THE ARTICLE SUGGESTS JUST THAT). 'There is no suggestion she has been harmed or killed,' says Clarence Mitchell.' 'They believe she has been hidden somewhere. It could be a Romany family who have taken her. It's unusual but not completely rare. As long as there is money in the Fund to pay for investigators, the investigation will continue. If and when it runs out, there are ways to bring more money inb.'
The rest of the article is placed around the main article with pics and a link to their site. Basically a rehashed piece of rubbish to get the message across, we need your money, imo!

Sorry for any mistakes, typed it quickly. It was really boring to do!

Zodiac, the moronic pink one is kind of distracted. Mr Rogério Alves, one of the gruesome twosome's Portuguese lawyers, not only said there is no reason at all to sue, but he added that what could be done has been done. :-)

---------------------------------------------------------
